Chalet Ski
Chalet Ski have just launched a new site that features a range of chalets from 3 star through to some of Europe's best chalets in some of the finest luxury ski resorts. When we tested the site it had one or two minor bugs, but generally worked well and had a good look. By all accounts this is just the main sites and a luxury, family, and ski in ski out are set to follow.

Luxury Ski Resorts
If you are looking to book a luxury chalet in a luxury ski resort, our advice is to not to wait around. And after slightly restricted buying in the last 24 months, many seem keen to make up for their restricted spending!

Luxury Catered Chalets Verbier - Outstanding Family Chalet
If you are looking for a Verbier luxury catered chalet, we have a great alternative to the usual run of the mill chalets that you may stay at typically. Being one of the best luxury ski resorts in the world, subsequently means that Verbier isn't the cheapest ski resort in the world, and therefore if you are looking for a great luxury chalet in Verbier, you choice might be limited, particular if you are a family ski group.
But we have an alternative option that is particularly good for family ski group, as its in a great ski in ski out location, something that is quite rare in the Verbier 4 Vallees. Chalet Auriane is situated in the ski resort of Tzoumaz which is just one ski lift from the main Verbier network. With Tzoumaz being a quieter alternative to the mad alternative that is Verbier, so ideal for family ski groups and those who no longer need to party until dawn.
And if the photos in this blog are't convincing enough, hereare some of its features:

Easter Ski
Here in Chamonix the Easter skiing week has got off to a great start with 50cm of fresh snow and Chamonix topping the snow depth charts, not only in Europe, but according the Ski Club of Great Britain, across the world.
We often get asked what it is like to ski Easter here in Chamonix, so I'll just quote the snow depth figures of 168cm at 2,000m, and 400cm at 3,275m which should tell its tale? Chamonix is undoubtably one of the best luxury ski resorts you'll find anywhere in the world and Easter skiing is just one of the great times to ski when the weather is little bit warmer, the days are a little longer, and typically the sun shines a little brighter (although with snow forecast most of this week this may be a mute point on this occasion).

In terms of luxury catered chalets, Val d'Isere has some of the best. Whilst not a cheap resort to frequent, the ski town justifies the price with great bars and resturants that befit the well heeled clientele who frequent Chalet Prarion.

Chamonix Christmas
With five weeks still left of the this season here in the Chamonix Valley, it might seem strange to be talking about a ski Chamonix Christmas holiday! But with demand always high for this week, a Chamonix Christmas needs to be planned well in advance if one wants to avoid the chalets that no one else wants!
Here at Chalet Prarion, we pride ourselves on being the finest ski in ski out chalet, and certainly one of the best luxury chalets in Chamonix. Therefore a Chamonix Christmas at Chalet Prarion means that you get spoilt, from being picked up at the airport by our own staff, and not some random transfer company along with another chalets guest, the fresh cakes and biscuits on arrival, champagne and canape reception in the evening, through to the four course gastronomic delight, always prepared by a professional, highly qualified chef, and not some student or budding dinner party enthusiast.
And a ski Christmas means at Chalet Prarion you still get all the decorations, the Christmas tree, but with a 'white' ski in ski out location. And on Christmas Day, bucks fizz with scrabbled eggs and smoked salmon is just one of the offerings, before you set down later in the day to a traditional Christmas dinner of either Goose, Venison, or Turkey, followed by a traditional made Christmas pudding that we ship in to Chamonix all the way from rural Gloucestershire.
So have a great Chamonix Christmas here at Chalet Prarion.

Family Ski Holiday - Ski Half Term
Shortly families will be packing their bags for the annual family ski / half term holiday, and barring a rare freak of nature, it certainly looks like it should be a good week with great snow conditions. I say a great week, this also assumes you have selected the right resort and even more importantly, one of the better ski operators who will have the experience, location (ideally either ski in ski out or close to the slopes), and service quality to ensure your half term ski week runs smoothly.
I guess the first selection criteria should indeed be the resort, and the question here is pitching the resort against the families ski ability. If they are young and relatively inexperienced, you don't want to necessarily be picking the resort that offers the steepest and deepest runs. Scare them too early, and they probably won't want to ski ever again.
Once you have selected the resort, choose carefully the operator, ask them questions, starting with the facilities that they have at the chalet, what services and support they offer family ski groups, what they know about the slopes and how suitable they are for children, the ski school, and the ski lessons they would recommend, test basically whether they really are as ski family friendly as the website suggests.
And assuming you have done this, have a great ski half term holiday!!

Luxury Catered Chalet Chamonix - Chalet Prarion
This week, with more snow, skiing has taken again the focus here at luxury Chalet Prarion, which has now slowly got back to normal after all the media attention over the New Year week.
Since the New Year, the snow has continued to fall with more falling this morning. The slopes themselves here in Les Houches, Chamonix, have been groomed immaculately and this weeks ski clients have managed to virtually enjoy the slopes to themselves. We are lucky having a garden that is large and backs on to the piste, and with the slopes feeling nearly empty, guests commented on the resort being just an extension of ski in ski out Chalet Prarion's 'official' boundary.
The skiing itself has certainly been great with well packed snow covered by a light powder and people therefore looking to ski great conditions, but at a great price, skiing in January is definitely worth considering and therefore please contact us here at Chamonix Exclusive for great January ski deals for 2011.

Les Houches - Chamonix Valley
Well Les Houches, the small exclusive ski village close to Chamonix has certainly experienced five minutes of fame after the world press focused on the question of whether someone did or didn't visit this beautiful place. As with all such occasions ('circus' is probably a better description), the usual, lies, half truths, and total fabrications have subsequently followed. Sadly as one gets older, the depths that some have gone here no longer shocks, and for those responsible we hope you are thoroughly ashamed of what you have done / printed!
However, rather than concentrate on the negatives, I thought we would concentrate on the positives in respect of Les Houches. At the start of the valley, Les Houches is the resort that the Kandahar World Cup Race frequents. Although Chamonix is often credited with this event, it is its smaller exclusive neighbour where the event is held. Unlike its Chamonix neighbour, Les Houches and its luxury chalets retains its exclusive appeal with strict planning rules that limit the proximity of one chalet to another to ensure a feeling of tranquility. The Marie is also careful to ensure that ski slopes aren't the only source of open space, and a number of pastures are retained for farming in summer months. The net result, particularly around the hamlets of Les Chavants and Le Cret, here in Les Houches, are some truly luxury ski chalets, situated in some of the most beautiful mountain scenery and alpine pastures, you are likely to experience.
Being situated under Mont Blanc, the skiing isn't bad either with snowfall often placing the Chamonix Valley at the top of the ratings in terms of snow depth. In Les Houches the skiing is particularly suited for families and the chance to cruise on well pisted runs, and probably some, if not the best scenery you will have ever skied in. And if you have ever been on the St Gervais / Les Houches Crozat chair, with blue skies, and just after a snowfall, please tell me if you have ever seen a view like this one!
Whilst Chalet Prarion has been the focus of the most attention recently, there are many other beautiful luxury chalets located in Les Houches, many run by our friends, and well worth a visit too. If you would like further information on such chalets, please don't hesitate to ask as we will be happy to offer advise and recommendations to suit most budgets.
