Ski Christmas

Well its now less than 300 days before Christmas, and so its already time to start the Christmas shopping, well for the annual ski Christmas holiday anyway! So whilst you may be spared the Christmas decorations and music in the local stores and supermarkets, but if you are looking to book that special Christmas ski vacation, now is the time to make the call if you want to secure some of the best Christmas ski chalets in some of the best ski resorts.

The first question we are always asked is what's the snow like, and here in Chamonix, being a high altitude Christmas ski holiday destination, it has never been an issue here at Chalet Prarion, with good snow and always ski in ski out. Whilst the altitude at Chamonix helps, to be fair to the lower altitude ski resorts, with snow typically falling October and November, by late December snow conditions are good and often some of the best of the season with the slopes experiencing their first major influx of skiers.

So book today and ski from Chamonix's finest ski in ski out luxury chalet.

Ski In Ski Out

With only three ski in ski out Chamonix chalets, and Chalet Prarion being the best luxury catered chalet out of the three, now is the time to book Chamonix ski in ski out accommodation for the 2010/11 ski season to avoid disappointment, not just the peak ski weeks of Christmas, New Year and half term, but others including the popular first weeks of January for the Russian Christmas and Russian New Year celebrations, and the most popular weeks in February and March.

Already a number of enquiries have been coming in and with the new extension adding bedroom six (en-suite of course), plus a new games room, this years record sales are once again expected to eclipsed next year.

Family Ski Holiday - Ski Half Term

Shortly families will be packing their bags for the annual family ski / half term holiday, and barring a rare freak of nature, it certainly looks like it should be a good week with great snow conditions. I say a great week, this also assumes you have selected the right resort and even more importantly, one of the better ski operators who will have the experience, location (ideally either ski in ski out or close to the slopes), and service quality to ensure your half term ski week runs smoothly.

I guess the first selection criteria should indeed be the resort, and the question here is pitching the resort against the families ski ability. If they are young and relatively inexperienced, you don't want to necessarily be picking the resort that offers the steepest and deepest runs. Scare them too early, and they probably won't want to ski ever again.

Once you have selected the resort, choose carefully the operator, ask them questions, starting with the facilities that they have at the chalet, what services and support they offer family ski groups, what they know about the slopes and how suitable they are for children, the ski school, and the ski lessons they would recommend, test basically whether they really are as ski family friendly as the website suggests.

And assuming you have done this, have a great ski half term holiday!!
